    I think the reason the dying patients breathed more is because oxygen = life force, they weren't doing it deliberately or consciously to harm themselves

    This video is what really started my fascination in the world of breathing and what exactly happens when we practice these types of methods. From all the research I’ve continued to do since then, what I’ve found is that the main healing component to all of this is the levels of carbon dioxide in your body and how it builds up. This leads me to my question: Anders Olsson has a machine called the carbohaler. It basically allows you to breathe with regulated amounts of co2. Wouldn’t this theoretically take someone out of a sympathetic-dominant state and allow their parasympathetic side to kick in through this biohacking method which in turn will heal their limbic system followed by everything else?

    This was an interesting method, and I'll try it going forward when doing meditation. When I've tried other meditation breathing techniques (big breaths and/or long exhalations via the mouth) I feel my heart race and it causes me to tense up - this, however, allowed me to stay relaxed.

    Ever since I had covid a couple years ago I've had anxiety which seems to respond to buteyko breathing. But when I go jogging i get bad symptoms of vertigo or a dizziness feeling. Could that be caused by over breathing? Do people exercise with their mouth closed?

    Hi- thanks for your account and videos! Coming across this account has been really helpful. I have hyperventilation syndrome and am constantly trying to yawn or get that satisfying breath and it’s taking over my life and has been. I can’t sleep and get in vicious cycles of hyperventilation. Sometimes when I do this video I feel a bit of relaxation and relief but then when I lie down and go back to doing something normal like reading or watching tv all I can focus on is nouth breathing and getting that big satisfying yawn which again starts the horrible cycle where I need that every 15 seconds. How do I save myself. Is it just a matter of doing this video like a million times a day over and over so eventually my body doesn’t need these so called big breaths anymore. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! love the vids and hoping they can help me stop torturing myself for good once and for all.

    • @thebuteykomethod
      @thebuteykomethod 2 дня назад

      Hey Kev, no need to hold the nose. Just to clarify the technique: Normal gentle in-breath, normal gentle out-breath to residual capacity, then hold your breath for 3-5 seconds. Then breathe normally for 10-15 seconds. Repeat for 5 minutes or until your symptoms subside. Don't breathe in or out during the breath hold. Don't forcefully exhale or push your breath out, the out breath should be passive. Hope that helps 👍

      Hey @pb.pb.pb.pb feeling warmer and a shortage of air are good signs, also the airways opening up. The tension and anxiety suggest that the air hunger was a little bit too strong. When I'm stressed I breathe shallow. What's the difference between that and this - how fast the breaths are?

    • @thebuteykomethod
      @thebuteykomethod 2 дня назад

      Hey @samanthathompson9812, great question. Shallow breathing caused by stress is characterised by faster breathing in the upper chest and accessory breathing muscles. When we breathe light, the breaths are slower than usual rather than faster. Ideally we also breathe using the diaphragm, although this may not be possible for everyone (which actually isn't a problem because regularly breathing light results in naturally more diaphragmatic breathing over time).
